it’s time for a change don’t you think?

ummmmmmmmmm

Hey y’all 👋🏼 I hope you’ve been enjoying Sana’s Notes so far, if there is anything you’d like to hear about from me, just hit the Reply button and let me know! I hope you enjoy this week’s catch-up.

🍎 food for thought

hey besties! how’s your week shaping up so far? I feel like January is zooming by, although I kind of did this to myself by planning a ton of stuff in Q1 (stay tuned 👀) and have quietly been working away on some long-term projects and goals. ICYMI, I also posted my first video of 2024 on my YouTube channel which I’ll have linked at the bottom of this email.

This week has been pretty eventful so far. I had a job interview on Monday - more on that in my YouTube video. Then my laptop almost died on me on Tuesday, but thankfully I have it safely back in one piece, with only a bit of wear and tear. Not having my laptop with me for 24 hours was a very interesting experience because I realised how attached I am to this thing, like literally at the hip. Finally, as you’re reading this, I’ll be on my way back from my second job interview!! I’ve been ready for a change in routine for a while and things are finally aligning this month so let’s hope for the best.

I’ve been thinking a lot about maximising 2024 which I know, sounds kinda bad, but I’m pushing myself to do more things, experience new stuff and learn a lot without having some big end goal because I think for a long time my end goal was to finish my Masters and since then things have felt a little shaky. But I’m confident in achieving a life/work balance that I love and these potential jobs may just be the kickstart I need.

What I’ve learned 👇🏼

  • A lot of the times we tend to underplay our achievements and wins in front of other people. I told myself that no matter how nervous I get during these job interviews, I wasn’t going to shy away from my accomplishments.

  • Don’t be afraid of missing your chance. I’ve been watching a show called Class of ‘09, and it has the craziest flash-forwards and flashbacks presenting three different time periods. The same characters who make decisions they think are best for them, realise much later in the future that there’s nothing they can do to make up for lost time regarding those decisions. However, there’s a sliver of hope because if not now, then when?

  • Hug your parents. That’s it.

🍗 content nuggets

You might know Bridey Drake on YouTube - she’s the quirky, Australian woman who renovates her house in the Outback, has the bestest of times with her best friend Jiny and runs a pyjama business??? I absolutely love when her shorts pop up on my feed and her mix of spontaneity and just pure fun makes me laugh.

Not gonna lie, I’ve been slacking this week and missed going to the gym on a few occasions but truthfully, life is just getting in the way and my recent sleep schedule has been messing me up. As a motivating coincidence, Alia recently uploaded a video about her back to fitness routine for this new year and I really just enjoyed this wholesome vlog.

I’ve seen lots of content online about people destroying Gordon’s content and recipes and saw a ton of comments on how Josh of Mythical Kitchen is no stranger to that. I came for the food and stayed for Gordon to be honest. I really enjoyed this interview so will be keeping my eyes out for more like this.

Justtttt a small reminder that I’m over half way through my Drawing Board series over on Instagram - it’s so nice to have one less thing to worry about and content is still going out like an engine 🔥

If you missed them, I’ve linked the most popular one below:

🔥 on the back burner

This little video is slowly racking up some views and it took me ages to film because I kept procrastinating, putting it off and then actually re-filmed because I wasn’t happy with it but it is what it is. I thought I’d share my job-seeking journey in a short video to explain the current trajectory and keep y’all updated. Enjoy!!

Oh! Also! If you’re a Part 1 student or graduate and want to learn about some very exciting in-person workshops I have coming up - hit reply on this email and tell me a bit about yourself so I can put you on my list to get the news first.
